Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need yoga experience to attend a retreat?
Not at all! My yoga and wellbeing retreats are welcoming and accessible, whether you're completely new to yoga or have been practising for years. I offer options throughout the sessions so you can move at your own pace, listen to your body and enjoy the experience in a way that feels right for you.
What can I expect from a yoga retreat?
A lovely balance of movement, relaxation and time just for you. Each retreat is thoughtfully planned to bring together uplifting yoga, gentle stretching, deep rest and opportunities to reconnect with yourself. Depending on the retreat, you might also enjoy creative workshops, meditation, delicious seasonal food and time outdoors. Most importantly, there's no pressure to do anything perfectly — it's your time to enjoy.
Can I come to a retreat on my own?
Absolutely! Many people come along on their own, and you'll be made to feel very welcome. My retreats are relaxed, friendly and inclusive, offering opportunities to connect with like-minded people while also enjoying some quiet time for yourself. You can be as sociable or as reflective as you like.
What should I bring to a yoga retreat?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, some warm layers for relaxation and anything else that helps you feel cosy. I'll let you know in advance if you need to bring a yoga mat or any additional equipment. Most importantly, bring yourself and an open mind!
What if I'm not very flexible or fit?
You don't need to be flexible or particularly fit to enjoy a yoga retreat. Yoga is about exploring movement in a way that works for your body, not achieving perfect poses. I'll offer different options throughout the sessions, and you're always welcome to rest or adapt anything that doesn't feel comfortable.
What's included in the retreat price?
Each retreat is a little different. My half-day retreats usually include a combination of yoga, relaxation, meditation and refreshments. Full-day and weekend retreats offer a more immersive experience, often including additional workshops, seasonal food and time to enjoy the surroundings. You'll find full details of what's included on each retreat booking page.
Where are your yoga retreats held?
My yoga and wellbeing retreats take place in carefully chosen locations around Bristol and Somerset. From welcoming village halls to beautiful countryside settings, I choose spaces that offer a sense of calm, comfort and connection with nature.
What styles of yoga will we practise?
My retreats bring together a variety of yoga practices to create a balance of energy and rest. You might enjoy uplifting Hatha yoga, flowing sequences, gentle stretching, floor-based Yin yoga, deeply relaxing Restorative Yoga and guided Yoga Nidra. Each retreat has its own theme and programme, so there's always something a little different to enjoy.
Will there be time to relax?
Definitely! Rest is just as important as movement in my retreats. I make sure there's time to slow down, enjoy moments of stillness and simply be. Whether that's relaxing in a restorative yoga pose, enjoying a cup of tea or spending some quiet time outdoors, there's no need to rush.
What if I have an injury or health condition?
Please get in touch before booking if you have an injury, health condition or anything you're concerned about. I'm happy to discuss the retreat programme with you and explore whether suitable adaptations may be possible. Your comfort and wellbeing are important, and I always encourage you to listen to your body.
What if I need to cancel my booking?
I understand that plans sometimes change. Each retreat has its own booking and cancellation terms, which you'll find when making your reservation. Please check these before booking, and feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
